  • We've Switched To Stripe Checkout

    February 19, 2016 by Russ
  • We've switched to Stripe Checkout as our primary method for credit card payments.

Stripe is a secure checkout process that allows you to pay for your invoices with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB.  We will eventually add ACH (checking account) and Bitcoin payment options!  Optionally, you can store your payment information on Stripe's servers for faster checkout the next time you need to pay.  Eventually we will tie in Stripe with our subscription options to make it even easier for you to subscribe and pay for services on our website.

Why is this better than what you had before?
From a cost-to-benefit ratio as a company we saw this as a viable option for our credit card processing needs.  Stripe's security and customer accessibility features make it more appealing than storing credit card data on our own servers.  Stripe has been certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider (http://www.visa.com/splisting/searchGrsp.do?companyNameCriteria=stripe).  For those not in the know about PCI-DSS compliance - that's pretty darn good.

Do I have to store my payment information on Stripe?
Not at all.  It's totally optional.  However, if you do store your credit card information with Stripe using your email address and mobile phone number the next time you want to checkout on our site all you have to do is enter the security code that Stripe sends you via SMS.  You can even use those same credentials on other websites that use Stripe.  Easy huh?

How do I use Stripe when I want to checkout?
When you are ready to pay for an invoice, click on the radio button next to where it says "Pay with your Credit Card via Stripe Checkout" and then click on "Pay Invoice".  A small box will appear on your screen that will allow you to enter your credit card information and optionally store your payment information for future reference.
